Center for Global Communication + Design
Located in the Folsom Library, the Center for Global Communication+Design (Comm+D) is a free resource for all members of the Rensselaer community: students, faculty, and staff. Graduate students are encouraged to schedule an in-person or online appointment with Comm+D consultants to discuss any communication project for any purpose, and at any stage of the development process.
Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD)
Located in DCC 209, the Center for Career and Professional Development offers workshops for graduate students throughout the year on topics like Academia vs. Industry, Social Media and the Job Search, Interviewing Tips, Negotiation, and more. Graduate students are encouraged to sign up with Handshake, an online recruiting and job posting system that also connects students with campus recruiting activities.
Professional Leadership Series
Facilitated by Dr. Judith Obiero from the Archer Center for Student Leadership, the Professional Leadership Series (PLS) is designed to assist graduate students in the development of their leadership and teamwork skills by focusing specifically on communication skill sets. Through experiential learning, students are exposed to specific leadership theories and skills. The seminar series encourages students to explore their beliefs about leadership and professional development in a discussion format. This learning approach is designed to promote further development of students’ leadership abilities. Communication in multiple forms will be emphasized.
Teaching and Learning Collaboratory
Graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of the resources and tools available through the Teaching and Learning Collaboratory. Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship
A resource for all Rensselaer students, the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship guides, mentors, and coaches student-based startup businesses, connecting those who are starting businesses to resources and networks within and beyond the Rensselaer community.
