OGE Seeking Nominations for Faculty Advising Award

The Office of Graduate Education is seeking nominations for the Faculty Advising Award for Graduate Education, which will be presented at this year’s PhD Hooding Ceremony. This award recognizes outstanding faculty members whose advising has had a meaningful and lasting impact on graduate students.

Nominations may be submitted by graduate students, post-docs, faculty colleagues, Graduate Program Directors, Graduate Program Administrators, or Department Heads (individual or group letters are welcome).

Nomination letters (maximum 2 pages) should provide specific examples of excellence in mentoring and student development, fostering a positive and productive research or academic environment, and the overall impact of the nominee’s advising.

Please submit the nomination letter as an attachment via email to Betty Madigan (madige@rpi.edu) with “Faculty Advising Award Nomination” in the subject line. Include the nominee’s school and department in the body of the email.

All nominations must be received by 5:00 PM on April 1.

I encourage you to consider nominating a faculty member whose advising has made a significant difference in the graduate student experience.

Thanks,

Dorit
